Runs a failing magic candy shop in Krem called Sweet Oasis. Her candies are either the most delicious or disgusting candies anyone could eat.

An OC that was created to be in the namiverse (more specifically Syrup and the ultimate sweet). Her magic is uncontrollable which leads to horrible or amazing things happening to her. No in between.

Originally a Roblox avatar I created when I first started transitioning as my dream look. Over time I established my own unique identity and appearance from her. However, I loved her design so much that I decided to turn her into an OC of mine to give her another life.

personality

Fig acts super confident and charming in front of people. She seems to always smiling and happy to everyone she greets... as long as its a good day for her. She acts like nothing can get through her or stop her. Which is often a burden to herself

Under the careless exterior, she is highly stressed. She always try's to be the best despite her shop always on the brink of bankruptcy. She tries her best to make the best of things but every moment she worries about her candy shop dream failing. She tries her best to push those thoughts away and not get to her, for she worries that if she shows weakness, then everything around her will crumble.

FAMILY

Jujube (Deceased Father)
Died before fig was born, he was an experienced and lucky potion maker. Fig's mother compares her to him, saying that is what Fig should have been instead of a candy maker. Due to this, Fig has had a negative opinion of her father, even though she never met him. Fig's "luck" was inherited from him.
Aronia (Mother)
Her only parent since she was born. She has a very tense relationship with her mother, who has only been hateful and negative about Fig and her decisions, especially her transition. Despite this, Fig can't bring herself to cut her out of her life.

FRIENDLY

Souffle
Bonded over sweets, Souffle is Fig's closest friend. Souffle has taught Fig how to bake, and Fig has taught Souffle a bit about making candy with magic. Fig often asks him to try out the new candies she makes. Her highs are high, but her lows are very low with candy making, and she often accidentally gets him sick. Fig feels like only he can understand her passion for candy making.
Trick
Met briefly during Trick's journey, but she really enjoyed talking to them. She even offered them free candy, which she normally never does. She wishes she could meet them again and hear more of their stories. She sometimes thinks about traveling the land like they did, as she wants to get away from everything sometimes.

UNFRIENDLY

Syrup
Visits Atelier Sweets frequently via Instarail to study her candy. She is very jealous of Syrup's success and wishes she could have success like her. Due to this jealousy, Fig is always passive-aggressive when speaking to Syrup. She still begrudgingly enjoys Syrup's candy, though. Fig does sometimes commission her to make candy for Souffle when she feels bad about making him sick.
Lime
Despises this guy, and he pisses her off so much. She has never had a good interaction with him. One of the few times she decided to actually take his offer to tell her fortune, it immediately upset her, as everything about her fortune was negative—and it later came true. Ever since then, she has hated him with a burning passion, believing he caused it. She sometimes tries to give her worst candies to him, hoping he will get sick.
Osmanthus
Fig was suspected of being part of Carmella's Grace, which Osmanthus was hunting, as there were rumors that she used candies to lure people in and drain their blood. She was held and interrogated for a long time before being found not to be involved. She hates him for what he did to her and hopes that one day karma will come for him.?

story

early life & background

Fig was born in Krem, the baby of a human-witch relationship, with her mother, Aronia, as her only parent. Her father, Jujube, died before she was born. She inherited the luck aspect of Jujube's magic, but because her mother was human, it caused a rare genetic condition where the non-magical side of her mother merged with the magical side of her father, creating an amalgamation of both. This amalgamation eliminated any middle ground for her luck, causing Fig's luck to swing only to extreme highs and lows.

Originally born male, her grieving mother, who just wanted her husband back, believed that Fig would become her father and a potion maker. At an early age, Fig was forced into potion-making classes. During these classes, her potions were highly unstable, causing multiple incidents, though some were also highly advanced for her age. These actions confused her teachers, so they tried an experiment where they had Fig make the exact same potion twice. The first one was highly advanced and perfect, but when she made the second potion, it blew up part of the building. Fig was found to have an imbalance of astral magic, causing her luck to be on extreme ends. For safety reasons, Fig was kicked out of her classes for fear of more incidents happening.

Her mother did not take it well, as it felt like a piece of her husband breaking away, causing her to become verbally abusive toward Fig. Due to this, Fig started to resent potion making and her father over time, causing more discord between her and her mom. During this time, she began questioning her gender and started transitioning to female. This was the last straw for her mother, who now believed her husband was completely gone and blamed Fig for his death. She kicked Fig out of her home, leaving Fig homeless and lonely, and forcing her to find a job early in high school. During her high school years, she struggled with charm classes, as any charms that involved astral magic were highly unstable when made by her. After high school, she took a trip to check out Atelier Sweets and fell in love with the idea of candy making, although she refuses to learn Candy Alchemy and will only practice Candy Magic.

sweet oasis

To make her dream of creating something OTHER than potions come true, she took out a loan from the Netherworld and set up a candy shop in Krem called the Sweet Oasis, despite not having much prior knowledge of how to make candy. Her first day was pretty empty, but she met Souffle, who wanted to try a new sweets spot in a town lacking in options. The first candy she gave him was a blueberry taffy, and it was made perfectly; Souffle loved every bit of it. However, when he came back in the next day to get more, the candy tasted off, and he later got sick from it. Despite this, he didn't hold a grudge against Fig since she was a beginner and a sweets maker who could hate someone like that?

Her business started growing, falling, growing, and falling, as the quality and taste of her candies always fluctuated; despite anything Fig tried to do to fix it, it could never be solved. The business stresses her out, even though she enjoys it so much. When her mother found out about the shop, she called Fig a failure to her father's memory and claimed her candy making was just a gimmick that would die out—adding that it had become a trend in Krem to try her candies just to see whether or not you'd get sick (which, unfortunately, she wasn't wrong about, it was one of the few things keeping her in business). This frustrated Fig, and she tried to cut contact with her, but for reasons she couldn't understand, she couldn't bring herself to stop interacting with her mother. Souffle helped comfort her through all of this, standing by her as one of her only true friends.

CONTENT WARNING: WRONGFUL ARREST

Her business continued to fluctuate until one week, when she had a stretch of horrible candy that got many people across Krem sick. During this time, there was a secret investigation into the group "Carmella's Grace" due to rumors of them being spotted in Krem. All of this led to Fig being suddenly arrested by Agent Osmanthus as a potential member of the group. She was suspected because of all the bad stories associated with her candy shop, with rumors claiming she intentionally poisoned people with her magic candies to make them weak and other rumors adding that this weakness allowed people's blood to be drained. Fig was held in a nearby detention center for days and subjected to harsh treatment by Osmanthus to get information out of her. After a whole week, Osmanthus only gave in and released her after Fig offered him some of the money she had made from her candy shop. Once freed, she didn't go back into her shop for a while, as she had a deep fear of being anywhere inside it. She only started opening the shop again after Souffle helped her work through her fear. She hopes that one day Osmanthus gets karma for what he did to her.

Outside her shop, Fig has begun researching a cure or solution for her fluctuating luck with creation, though to no avail. She fears another moment like before, where her unpredictable luck could put her in a dangerous situation. She has started to get tired of the constant cycle of good and bad business and just wants stability in her life. Her research has gotten nowhere so far...
